A couple months ago, the couple showed up at my studio door for a consultation and it was love at first sight...are you picking up what I'm putting down?
I feel SO blessed looking ahead to the 2010 wedding season and I am just googly eyed over every couple that has been booking with me! Sarah and Jon are a very special couple to me, because their love it very pure. Jon proves to be an inspiration to everyone he comes in contact with, which adds an incredible dynamic to their relationship! They both are so strong, have incredible respect for each other and seriously know how to laugh...to me, that is the perfect combination for one strong love and two perfect clients!
Congratulations to Sarah and Jon on their engagement!!!

Mike LOOOOOOOVVVVEEEESSSSS Carly!
Seriously, it's refreshing! Guys tend to hold back their emotion a wee bit in front of the camera, but Mike was ALL about it, because he is SO in love with this woman!
This couple also loves to laugh - and it's a good thing that they have a sense of humor! During their shoot, I asked them to climb down a hill to get to a beautiful bluff. Well, we all started climbing and quickly realized the bluff was made out of limestone, which when wet is the consistency of really sludgy, slippery clay. We all had near-death-experiences I think, but we TOTALLY got THE shot and laughed the entire way through it!
Congratulations to Carly and Mike - they'll be getting hitched in 2010!

Absolutley LOVE the photos........and the Blog. Mike truly does love my daughter, and am not surprised you were able to tell. We are blessed beyond measure to have this wonderful daughter and "son". They are terrific people and as a Mom, it is a given to love your kids, but I also really LIKE them!

Then, I said it. I'm a people pleaser. I love to make people happy. And I know that my images make my client's dreams come true. However, the artist within me needs something more. I need to remember to make myself happy with my images to keep things fresh and creative. I need to make myself happy before I can continue to make others happy.
Thus, I have decided to take my blog back! I will continue to post images from weddings and all our other shenanigans, but instead of posting images that I know my clients, magazine editors, etc will like, I am going to post the images that I personally LOVE!

I'm so stoked that you posted it! I think that the beginning of winter is a strange time for creative people. I know that I almost always fall into a funk this time of year and I think it's awesome that you're being proactive and taking control of it.

I think an artist depends a lot of the points of view of her/his clients, but more of HIS point of view and the ablility to judge it: if you don't like some pics or less than other ones, why and how could they be liked by others ?! And customers are choosing you for your capacity of dissociating good pics of bad ones. Sorry for any language faults, I hope you will understand what I want to tell you !

(09.24.09 @ 10:35 AM)Sara and Matt met one Halloween night. Matt was dressed as a penguin and I'm laughing as I write this at the thought of him asking for Sara's phone number...in a penguin suit! However, if you know these two at all, that scenario is absolutely perfect.
I met this couple over a year ago at the Odney Wedding and THAT night at their reception, Sara came up to me and said 'Whenever I get engaged, you are the FIRST call I am making!' - sure enough, she booked her wedding a couple days after they became engaged!! I love it when that happens. Not only do I know that I am the perfect match for the couple, but our chemistry is amazing and a deep friendship is bound to happen!
