Married! // Anna + Sean Part 2

Anna and Sean’s wedding celebration carried on and the second day welcomed a larger group of friends and family to Mill District Event Spaces for a spectacular night! I must say, Anna and Sean know how to throw a party! Everything from their invitations to custom playing cards walked their guests through the Kilgarriff Casino! That’s right - a casino night!

Guests were welcomed with orange wine and ushered right into Cocktail hour! Daniel the Violinist roamed the floor entertaining guests while DJ Goodnight kept the party going! Anna and Sean have impeccable style and our photo session was so fun, despite the rain that was pouring down outside. Honestly, I don’t think anyone even noticed the rain, we were all having too good of a time!

After a dinner filled with heartwarming speeches, the casino opened and guests placed their bets! Espresso martinis were the drink of the night and everyone had a the time of their lives!

A big thank you to Anna and Sean for inviting me and our team to photograph this very memorable wedding! We are all so happy for you!

Married! // Anna + Sean Part 1

Anna and Sean planned a spectacular weekend for their friends and family. Their wedding day was thirteen years in the making and one of the things I loved most about this couple is that they planned a wedding that they really wanted to attend. That might feel a little silly to say, but for real - their wedding was cool.

The couple kicked off their wedding by getting ready at The Four Seasons Hotel, complete with a little photoshoot at one of their favorite spots, Mara Bar. From there we traveled to the church, walked right in and down the aisle to get married in an intimate ceremony with those closet to them!

To cap off the night, Anna and Sean treated their guests to an incredible dinner at The Kenwood Restaurant - again, one of their regular, favorite spots. This is a couple who loves hospitality, who loves to dine and be connected to the city of Minneapolis!

I must say though, that my absolute favorite part of the day was when Anna and Sean read their vows under the willow tree. It’s a special spot we found during their engagement session and has forever become a special space for the couple!

Celebrating 20 Years of Business!

This year marks 20 years. What?! I truly can’t believe it! It was just yesterday that we had our 10 Year Hustle Party that will go down in history as one of the greatest parties ever! This is an enormous milestone and I wanted to take a moment to write about it!

For two decades now I’ve been invited to photograph weddings and peek into my client’s lives on one of their most important days with my camera. When I started Photogen Inc., I don’t think I could have imagined what this work would become for me, but I knew I loved it. From the beginning, I have enjoyed creating timeless images through both a photojournalism and editorial lens. It’s taken me around the world and introduced me to clients who are now lifelong friends. I’ve gotten the chance to work with the best planners, designers, florists, videographers and let me go ON about our amazing team of assistants and photographers here at our studio. They are truly incredible and I’m inspired by their work at each wedding! We have had SO much talent come through these doors over the years and I am so deeply proud of each and every artists who has taught me so much along the way!

Over the years, so much has changed from trends to technology. When I started my career in wedding photography, film was just switching to digital. In 2026, we are in the era of Ai and content creation (which is a trend in weddings right now). It’s become important for me to ask myself, “What parts of being a wedding photographer feel meaningful to me? Why am I still here?”

The truth is, I still love weddings and I’m a sucker for a good love story! I want my photos to be beautiful and timeless. I want them to capture a moment that will live on for generations, not just a like on instagram. I love getting to know my clients, their stories and what makes them excited about marrying one another. I love the trust that we build and the relationships that are formed! I love collaborating with my assistants on the day of a wedding and creating and capturing images in the moment becuase the fact is that no matter how much planning goes into a day, it oftentimes has a life of it’s own. Moments are constantly unfolding around us - between the weather, emotions, milestone moments of the day - it’s all important. I love delivering a finished album that my clients can touch, feel and hold onto for years to come!

Right now, more than ever, I feel like I’m craving things that are real. And love is real!

I still feel deeply honored anytime a client chooses me as their wedding photographer, it truly means the world!

These days, I take on 3-5 wedding each year. This gives me more time to focus on each wedding client and also gives me the work life balance I need with my family. It’s a win win for everyone!

Reaching this 20 year mark feels really big. Not in a loud, flashy way but in a grounded, grateful kind of way.
